New Searchable Online Databases

Huntsville Public Library has 8 new searchable online databases and resources that meets the needs and interests of everyone:  teachers, students, world and armchair travelers, local businesses.  

All you need to log in the database is your borrower card and PIN number, unless stated otherwise.  Any problems connect with library staff who will be happy to lend a helping hand.

	A to Z Maps Online A to Z Maps Online is the world's most useful online map database that contains a stand-alone map resource including 140,000 maps and many comprehensive features for geography research. A wide range of map categories including outline maps, current event maps, political maps, physical maps, topographical maps and thematic maps.
	A to Z World Culture Perfect for the world traveler, armchair traveler, or for school reports! The database features more than two million words of relevant culture content on 175 nations and territories, and over 1,500 country maps. Topics include religion, business culture, historical notes, government, stereotypes, holidays and festivals, and women in culture and business. Created by an international team of researchers, cartographers and writers, the database is continually updated.
	A to Z World Travel Perfect for the world traveler, armchair traveler, or for school reports! Find a myriad of information on different countries: city views, facts, neighborhoods, activities, restaurants, climate and weather, embassies and consulates, health & medical, language, maps, travel essentials, transportation, money & banking, and communication.
	Britannica Image Quest Simplify and improve your search for images with Image Quest  a searchable image database produced by Encyclopedia Britannica, offering over two million images that have been rights-cleared for non-commercial educational use.
	Britannica Online Public Library Edition Includes two unique home pages -- one for children and another for adults. Contains Encyclopædia Britannica, Compton's by Britannica, Britannica Elementary Encyclopedia, and Britannica Concise Encyclopedia. Contains full-text magazine articles, Web sites that have been reviewed and verified by Britannica editors, a homework help section for students, a world atlas, Merriam-Webster dictionaries and thesauri for children and adults, a Spanish-English dictionary, video and audio content, daily content updates, and more.

	Learning Express Library - Computer and Internet Basics Learning Express Library - Computer and Internet Basics provides interactive tutorial courses that will familiarize you with using a computer and the Internet in straightforward, non-technical language, all at your own pace. Users will need to create a unique username and password to access this resource. Library barcode and PIN numbers are not valid.
	World Book Online Encyclopedia The World Book Online offers access to an encyclopedia, dictionary, atlas, homework help, study aids, and curriculum guides.
