Volunteer Positions

We invite you to share your time and talent with the Huntsville Public Library through volunteer activities. In the past year, volunteers contributed over 1200 hours in a variety of library duties. On average, each of our volunteers assisted approximately 2 hours per week.

Adult Volunteer Activities @ Your Library

• Assist the Friends of the Library
• Provide genealogy assistance on Thursday afternoons
• Deliver books to homebound patrons
• Assist with book processing
• Shelf-read
• Sort donated materials

Student Volunteer Activities @ Your Library

• Clean and check CDs and DVDs
• Arrange newspapers and magazines in date order
• Clean computer keyboards and mice
• Shift books in the stacks
• Photocopy articles for our files
• Assist with book processing

Volunteer Applications

Please ask for a volunteer application form at the Circulation Desk at the library.

Complete an application form for either a Student or Adult Volunteer Position.

Please note: applications will be kept on file for one year.

Applications are processed at the time that an opening occurs.
