10% Reduction in Hours of Operation

The 10% reduction in hours of operation scheduled for February 26, 2012 has been postponed.  If you have questions or would like to show your support to the Library please contact Deborah Duce, Chief Librarian.  We will keep you posted.

Here is the letter from the Huntsville Public Library Board explaining the 10% reduction in Library hours of operation in effect February 26, 2012

Dear Library Users:

2012 promises to be a year of fiscal challenges for Huntsville Public Library.  Despite notice to Council/Corporate Services Committee that without a requested increase in operating expenditures that a reduction in hours of operation must be implemented, our request was not approved.

Therefore we have directed CEO/Chief Librarian Deborah Duce to implement the following reduction in hours of operation effective February 26, 2012.

Monday:  10:30 am to 6:00 pm
Tuesday:  10:30 am to 7:30 pm
Wednesday:  10:30 am to 7:30 pm
Thursday:  10:30 am to 7:30 pm
Friday:  10:30 am to 6:00 pm
Saturday:  10:30 am to 3:00 pm
Sunday:  1:00 to 4:00 pm

We will close the following Sundays in 2012:

February 19, April 8, May 20, August 5, September 2, October 7 and December 23

Please be assured that this is not a step we take lightly.  We hope the new hours of operation will minimize impact of the reduced access to facilities and services to the public.
